SEMICON China Guide: Shanghai Chip Show, Visitors and Leads
By Ilyas Kerbal,

SEMICON China is one of the largest semiconductor exhibitions in the world and the central meeting place for China’s chip industry. With China pushing hard for semiconductor self-sufficiency, the show is increasingly dominated by domestic equipment and materials makers, alongside international suppliers. For companies selling into fabs, packaging houses or the materials chain, the SEMICON China attendee list is high-value, technical and hard to assemble yourself.
This guide is for teams planning the March 2027 edition.

What is SEMICON China?
Organised by SEMI and CECC, SEMICON China covers the full microelectronics supply chain:
- Semiconductor equipment: lithography, deposition, etch, metrology
- Materials, gases and chemicals
- IC manufacturing and foundry
- Advanced packaging and test
- Compound semiconductors (SiC, GaN)
- Display, through the co-located FPD China, and smart mobility
The CSTIC technical conference runs alongside the exhibition.

Registration
Admission to the exhibition is free for professional visitors who pre-register at semiconchina.org. SEMI technical symposia, CSTIC and executive forums are ticketed separately.
Digital tools
Registration, exhibitor search and conference agendas run through semiconchina.org and SEMI China’s WeChat account, and SEMI offers year-round online matchmaking for members. The exhibitor search shows companies; it doesn’t show the process engineering manager at a specific fab or the procurement lead at a packaging house. In an industry where the buying group is small and technical, those names are what matter.
Pros and cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Largest window into China’s chip ecosystem | Export controls limit what some foreign firms can show or sell |
| Free exhibition entry | Highly technical; needs specialist staff |
| Domestic equipment and materials makers looking for partners | Crowded at peak hours |
| Co-located technical conference | Mostly Chinese-language sessions |
| SEMI’s global network | Competitive sensitivity limits open discussion |

Event apps are built for browsing, not for sales teams. They cap connections, hide data behind logins and rarely let you export anything. I pull attendee, exhibitor and speaker data from the app and the event website, enrich every profile and hand you a clean file before the doors open, so your reps can book meetings in advance and follow up properly afterwards.
