Smart City Summit and Expo Taiwan: Guide for GovTech Sellers
By Ilyas Kerbal,

Smart City Summit & Expo (SCSE) is one of Asia’s biggest events for smart city solutions, and it’s unusual in putting city governments at the centre. The 2026 edition had more than 2,250 booths across two cities, 250+ startups, 70+ forums and delegations from 174 cities in 53 countries, plus the co-located Net Zero City Expo. For govtech, mobility, energy and AI vendors who sell to cities, the SCSE attendee list is a rare collection of municipal buyers.
This guide is for the March 2027 edition.

What makes SCSE different
SCSE is organised by the Taipei Computer Association with government support. Beyond the usual exhibition, it features:
- 13 Taiwanese local government pavilions
- International pavilions (Tokyo and Poland debuted in 2026)
- “City Vision in Action”, where 21 cities posted real municipal challenges for vendors to solve
Topics include smart governance, transportation and mobility, net-zero and energy, AI, IoT and robotics for cities, smart healthcare and social services, and 5G/ICT infrastructure.

Two cities, one week
| City | Venue | 2026 dates |
|---|---|---|
| Taipei | Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 2 | 17–20 March |
| Kaohsiung | Kaohsiung Exhibition Center | 20–22 March |
Taipei is the main host every year, and the expo moves on to Kaohsiung right after. Expect the same March pattern in 2027.

Registration
Professional visitors pre-register online at smartcitytaiwan.com; no fee is published for trade visitors. Forums, closed-door workshops and international matchmaking need registration or an invitation.
Matchmaking and data
Registration and the international matchmaking programme run through smartcitytaiwan.com, organised by the Taipei Computer Association and the Taiwan Smart City Solutions Alliance. Matchmaking helps with international delegations. For a vendor, the real prize is knowing which city officials and integrators are coming, and what problems they’re trying to solve, before the show. That’s the list I build.
