Budget holders are here, but they are spread across a large crowd that also includes engineers, partners and other vendors. The value comes from filtering the list down to the titles and companies that actually buy from you.

Why ASU+GSV matters for sales teams

ASU+GSV gathers the education investment community in one place: VCs, founders, university leaders, district leaders and corporate learning executives. For edtech companies, it is as much a fundraising event as a sales event.

For vendors selling to education and workforce organisations, the most valuable attendees are leaders at universities, districts and enterprise learning teams. Knowing which institutions are attending helps you plan the right meetings.

Who should attend ASU+GSV?

Go if your buyers work in education and workforce and you can identify the specific companies you want to meet. The budget holders are there; the work is in finding them among a large crowd.

Think twice if you can’t staff a booth or meeting schedule properly. Without a target list, ASU+GSV can turn into a lot of pleasant conversations and very little pipeline.

Does ASU+GSV have an app?

The summit uses a networking app for meeting scheduling (check the site).

From a sales point of view, the app’s main limitation is access. You see the people who chose to be visible, you can’t pull them into your CRM, and once the event ends the data usually disappears with it.

Is ASU+GSV worth it?

Pros Cons
Concentrated edtech investors Expensive general passes
Senior education leaders Niche industry
Strong networking

A pre-show prospecting plan for ASU+GSV

When What to do
Early planning Pull the attendee, exhibitor and speaker lists and score them against your ideal customer profile.
Pre-show outreach Contact your top tier personally and your second tier with a short sequence. Aim to book meetings, not booth visits.
On site Work from a printed or mobile list of priority accounts and use breaks and evening events for warm introductions.
Post-show Follow up fast, share what you promised, and keep the list for next year’s edition.

General passes have historically ranged from $2,400 early to $5,000 walk-up. Register early and book meetings before the summit, when attendees are still building their schedules.

No export button in the event app? I deal with that part. Ask for the ASU+GSV list with names, titles, companies and LinkedIn profiles in one file.
