Black Hat USA 2027 runs from 31 July to 5 August at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Trainings come first, followed by two days of Briefings, Arsenal tool demos and the Business Hall, with around 20,000 attendees and 450 exhibitors.

Black Hat in a nutshell
Black Hat USA is where security researchers present new vulnerabilities and attack techniques. Trainings run first, followed by two days of Briefings, the Arsenal tool demos and the Business Hall where security vendors meet practitioners and buyers.
It sits in ‘Hacker Summer Camp’ week with DEF CON and BSides Las Vegas, so a large part of the security community is in town. Vendors run intensive pre-show outreach and evening events.

Go if you sell to revenue, operations or technology leaders in this space and can commit to pre-show outreach. The audience is senior enough that a handful of good meetings can justify the whole trip.
Think twice if your product is early-stage or your sales cycle needs a long technical evaluation. You may get better returns from a smaller regional event first, and from following up with Black Hat attendees after the show.

Does Black Hat have an app?
Black Hat publishes an official event app each year for schedule and exhibitors; Streamly provides on-demand recordings.
The official app is good for finding a booth or a session. It is much less useful for prospecting: data is thin, you can’t export it, and messaging limits stop you from reaching more than a handful of people a day.
