What IPPE means for B2B sellers
Protein production is a concentrated industry where a relatively small number of large processors account for much of the volume. IPPE is the place where their plant managers, engineers and food-safety leaders gather each year.
For equipment, automation, sanitation and software vendors, the attendee list is most useful when filtered toward integrated processors and large producers. Those accounts justify the effort of pre-booked meetings far more than small growers.
Is IPPE right for your team?
Best for: companies whose customers are the operators, dealers and distributors that IPPE attracts, and who want to see a whole industry in one place.
Less ideal for: enterprise software vendors targeting C-level buyers only. The crowd at IPPE is broad, so the attendee list has to be filtered hard before outreach.
Passes and pricing
| Option | Price / details |
|---|---|
| Also good to know | Standard attendee registration on ippexpo.org (historically modest, under ~$100 in advance) |
| Poultry growers | special $5 onsite registration (US residents) |
| Typical cost | Under ~$100 for most attendees (confirm on site). |
Prices change between editions and by registration date, so treat these as a guide and check ippexpo.org before you buy.
Event app and digital platform
IPPE publishes a show directory and floor plan online; check ippexpo.org for an app.
If you plan to prospect through the event app, expect friction: limited search filters, caps on messages and connection requests, and no way to get the data into your CRM. It helps on the day, but it is not a target list.
Is IPPE worth it?
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Unique concentration of protein-industry decision-makers | Narrow vertical |
| Strong international attendance | January timing |
| Affordable registration | Mostly equipment-driven |
A pre-show prospecting plan for IPPE
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| 2 months out | Decide who you want to meet: target roles, industries, company size. Then get the list of who is actually registered. |
| 1 month out | Run a short outreach sequence (three to four touches) that leads with the event and a clear meeting ask. |
| Final week | Send reminders, share your booth number or meeting spot, and prepare one-page briefs on your top accounts. |
| After the event | Send personalised follow-ups within 72 hours and tag every lead with the event name in your CRM. |
IPPE offers a special $5 onsite rate for poultry growers, so the floor will include many small producers. Use your list to separate them from processor and integrator staff before the show.
Pre-booked meetings beat booth traffic. If you want a clean, segmented IPPE list to work from, reach out on Prospector and tell me who you want to meet.
