ITMA is the world’s largest textile and garment technology exhibition, and it happens only once every four years. The 2027 edition runs from 16 to 22 September 2027 at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds. It will be the first ITMA in Hanover in about three decades, filling 13 halls.

The last edition, in Milan in 2023, had 1,709 exhibitors from 47 countries and more than 111,000 visitors from 143 countries on 200,000 m². Textile manufacturers use it to plan major investments, which makes it a high-stakes week for machinery makers and the companies that sell to them.

What you’ll find at ITMA

ITMA is the global showcase for textile and garment machinery:

  • Spinning, weaving, knitting and nonwovens machinery
  • Dyeing, finishing and digital textile printing
  • Garment and sewing technology
  • Fibres, yarns and technical textiles
  • Textile recycling and sustainability

Machine makers bring working lines. Water and energy savings, fibre recycling and automation are the big themes. ITMA ASIA + CITME is a separate event in Asia.

A rotating show

ITMA moves around Europe every four years: Barcelona in 2019, Milan in 2023 and Hanover in 2027. The rotation makes long-term planning harder, so it pays to confirm venue logistics early.

Exhibiting at ITMA 2027? I compile enriched ITMA exhibitor and visitor lists by machinery segment and country, with company size, role and LinkedIn. You get a CRM-ready file to book meetings with mill owners and production managers. Request your ITMA list.

Tickets

ITMA has historically sold day passes and full-show badges online with early-bird discounts, roughly €40–90 depending on the pass (estimate). Check itma.com when sales open.

ITMA traditionally offers a mobile app and online exhibitor search with product categories and hall maps. Useful for routing, but it gives you no visibility on which manufacturers will visit and no way to export decision-makers.

How to prospect ITMA

  1. Segment exhibitors by process step: spinning, weaving, knitting, finishing, printing, garment.
  2. List textile manufacturers in your target countries, especially Turkey, South Asia and Europe.
  3. Identify owners, plant managers and technical directors. Many mills are family-owned, so decisions sit at the top.
  4. Book meetings early in the seven days, when visiting delegations are at the show.
  5. Track long sales cycles in your CRM. Machinery deals often close months after ITMA.

Pros and cons

Pros Cons
