Yiwu is often called “the world’s supermarket”, and the China Yiwu International Commodities Fair is that supermarket in trade-fair form. The city hosts the largest small-commodities wholesale market on earth, Yiwu International Trade City, and every October the fair brings 2,000 to 4,000 exhibitors and more than 100,000 buyers from 200+ countries to the Yiwu International Expo Center. For anyone selling to low-MOQ importers, dollar stores or e-commerce sellers, the Yiwu Fair attendee list is an unusually global one.

What is the Yiwu Fair?

It’s a state-approved trade fair focused on small commodities:

  • Household goods and housewares
  • Toys, gifts and seasonal décor
  • Stationery and office supplies
  • Fashion accessories, jewellery and bags
  • Hardware, tools and small electronics
  • Cross-border e-commerce products

Most buyers combine the fair with the permanent market’s tens of thousands of showrooms, which makes Yiwu a sourcing trip as much as a trade show.

Where and when

The fair is held every October, typically over five days in the middle to the end of the month, at the Yiwu International Expo Center, 59 Zongze East Road. Yiwu is about 1.5 to 2 hours from Shanghai or Hangzhou by high-speed rail. Hotels fill quickly in October, so book well ahead.

Going to Yiwu Fair with a sales target? Get the list first. I compile who is exhibiting and attending, add titles, company size and LinkedIn links, and send it as a file your SDRs can work from on day one. Get the Yiwu Fair list

Buyer registration

Registration for trade buyers is free, through yiwufair.com or partner platforms. Bring your passport to collect your badge. Group and agent registrations are available.

Chinagoods and the data gap

Outside the fair, the Yiwu market’s official B2B platform Chinagoods connects buyers with the same suppliers found at the fair and in Yiwu International Trade City. It’s a useful product catalogue. It doesn’t separate factories from traders reliably, and it won’t give you an organised list of the importers attending. If you sell to those buyers, or want to vet suppliers before you go, you need your own data.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • A low-MOQ sourcing paradise
  • Free for buyers
  • Combines with the permanent Yiwu market
  • Mature agent and logistics ecosystem
  • Good for spotting trending low-cost products

Cons

  • Quality varies widely; verify suppliers
  • Many exhibitors are traders, not factories
  • Hotels fill quickly
  • Language barrier; agents or interpreters often needed
  • Not suited to premium or high-tech sourcing

Exhibiting is expensive. An empty meeting calendar is worse. A pre-event Yiwu Fair list with decision-makers, companies and LinkedIn profiles gives your booth staff something to work with. Get the Yiwu Fair attendee list

Making the most of Yiwu

  1. Plan two or three days for the fair and the permanent market together.
  2. Hire or vet an agent if you don’t speak Chinese.
  3. Verify factory status for anyone you plan to order from repeatedly.
  4. Photograph and log products with booth numbers and prices.
  5. Consolidate shipments through Yiwu’s logistics firms.
  6. If you sell services to buyers, target the regional importer groups with an enriched list before October.

Most teams arrive at a show like Yiwu Fair with a booth, a brochure and no plan for who they actually need to meet. I’m Ilyas, and through Prospector I build enriched attendee, exhibitor and speaker lists for B2B sales teams: job titles, companies, company size, industry, LinkedIn profiles and work emails where available, delivered as a CSV or Excel file that imports straight into HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive. Tell me which event you’re going to and who you sell to, and I’ll take it from there.
