AWS re:Invent 2026 takes place from 30 November to 4 December across a campus of hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Around 60,000 people attend in person, and nearly half of them were first-timers in 2025, which says a lot about how fast the AWS ecosystem keeps growing.

For anyone selling into cloud, data, security or AI, re:Invent is the biggest week on the calendar. Product launches dominate the headlines, but the real work happens in meeting rooms, dinners and partner events around the sessions. Here is how the week works and how to plan it.

What is re:Invent?

re:Invent is AWS’s annual customer and partner conference and one of the largest enterprise tech events in the world. Thousands of sessions, workshops, chalk talks and hands-on labs cover every AWS service, with major product launches in the keynotes.

For B2B companies it is also the biggest week of the year for the AWS partner ecosystem: ISVs, consultancies and data/AI vendors host private meetings, dinners and parties across the Strip. Pre-booked meetings are central, because the conference covers so many venues.

Location and venue

A multi-hotel ‘campus’ on the Las Vegas Strip: Venetian/Palazzo (main hub and Expo), Caesars Forum, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, Wynn and Encore, linked by shuttles.

Does it change location? No. re:Invent has been in Las Vegas every year since 2012.

Who attends re:Invent?

  • Cloud architects, engineers and developers
  • CTOs, CIOs, CISOs and IT leaders
  • Data and AI leaders
  • AWS partners: ISVs, SIs, consultancies
  • Startup founders and investors
  • AWS sales and solution teams

Decision-makers attend, but they are busy and protective of their time. The teams that get the most out of this show reach out weeks in advance with a specific reason to meet.

Target industries at re:Invent

  • Generative AI and machine learning
  • Data, analytics and databases
  • Security, identity and compliance
  • DevOps, containers and serverless
  • Migration and modernization
  • Industry clouds (financial services, healthcare, retail, public sector)
  • AWS Marketplace and partner go-to-market

Why B2B teams should care about re:Invent

re:Invent brings together the people who build on AWS and the people who buy for them: architects, engineering leaders, CTOs, CISOs and data teams, plus thousands of AWS partners. Many of them arrive with a list of vendors to evaluate.

The campus format means attendees spread across six or more hotels, and moving between them takes time. Vendors who pre-book meetings near the venues their prospects use get far more conversations done. A list of registered companies and roles is what makes that planning possible.

Is re:Invent right for your team?

Go if your buyers work in cloud and AI and you can identify the specific companies you want to meet. The budget holders are there; the work is in finding them among a large crowd.

Think twice if you can’t staff a booth or meeting schedule properly. Without a target list, re:Invent can turn into a lot of pleasant conversations and very little pipeline.

How much does re:Invent cost?

Option Price / details
Full Conference Pass $2,499
Also good to know 10% bulk discount for 10+ passes
re:Play party guest pass $350
Also good to know 50% AWS Certification exam voucher for in-person registrants
Typical cost $2,499 per person (before travel).

Prices change between editions and by registration date, so treat these as a guide and check reinvent.awsevents.com before you buy.

The re:Invent app and platform

AWS Events app (iOS/Android, sign-in with AWS Builder ID): AI session recommendations, seat reservations, calendar sync, maps with wayfinding and live notifications.

From a sales point of view, the app’s main limitation is access. You see the people who chose to be visible, you can’t pull them into your CRM, and once the event ends the data usually disappears with it.

re:Invent: strengths and weaknesses

Pros Cons
Concentration of technical and business cloud buyers Expensive pass plus Las Vegas hotels
Heavy meeting culture, easy to justify pre-booked 1:1s Campus spread across many hotels; moving between venues takes time
Strong partner co-selling opportunities with AWS Sessions fill quickly; reservations required
Big announcements create news hooks for outreach Very crowded Expo; hard to stand out without big sponsorship

How to prospect at re:Invent

When What to do
6-8 weeks before Get the attendee and exhibitor list. Segment it by job title, company size and industry, and remove existing customers and competitors.
3-5 weeks before Start outreach on email and LinkedIn. Mention the event, give a specific reason to meet and offer two or three time slots.
Show week Confirm every meeting 48 hours ahead, keep a short list of walk-in targets, and log every conversation in your CRM the same day.
1-5 days after Follow up while the event is still fresh, then add non-responders to a nurture sequence.

Ask prospects which hotel their sessions are in before proposing a meeting spot. A 20-minute walk across the Strip is often the reason a re:Invent meeting gets cancelled.
