CES 2027 Guide: Dates, Passes, Who Attends & Lead Lists
By Ilyas Kerbal,

CES 2027 returns to Las Vegas in early January, and it will again be the most covered technology event of the year. The 2026 edition drew about 142,000 attendees and more than 4,000 exhibitors across three campuses, from global brands to over a thousand startups in Eureka Park.
People often think of CES as a gadget show. In practice it is one of the largest B2B deal-making weeks in tech: distribution agreements, supplier meetings, partnerships and investment. This guide walks through the dates, passes and audience, and how sales teams can turn the week into pipeline.

About CES
CES is the largest technology trade show in the US and one of the most covered business events in the world. Global brands launch products, startups seek investors and partners, and corporates from automotive, health, retail and telecom come to scout technology. Although the products are often consumer-facing, CES is trade-only and much of its value is B2B: partnerships, distribution deals, supplier meetings and investment.
The show spreads across three campuses (Tech East at the LVCC, Tech West at the Venetian, and C Space at ARIA for marketing and media). Keynotes, the Great Minds program and dozens of conference tracks run alongside the floor.
Where does CES take place?
Las Vegas: Tech East (Las Vegas Convention Center), Tech West (Venetian Expo, incl. Eureka Park startups) and C Space (ARIA), plus hotel suites across the Strip.
Does it change location? No. CES has been held in Las Vegas every January since the late 1990s.

What CES means for B2B sellers
CES attracts senior people from far beyond consumer electronics: automotive, health, retail, telecom, energy and enterprise IT all send executives to scout technology and partners. That breadth makes it attractive for almost any tech vendor.
It also makes it noisy. Thousands of companies compete for the same attention, and the best meetings happen in private suites and hotel rooms that are booked weeks before the show. Knowing which companies are exhibiting, and which executives are registered, is the difference between a productive CES and four days of walking.
Is CES right for your team?
Best for: vendors with a defined segment in consumer and enterprise technology who are ready to filter the attendee base by role and company size.
Less ideal for: teams expecting qualified leads to come to them. At CES, the useful meetings are almost always arranged before the show opens.

Event app and digital platform
The official CES app (iOS/Android) has exhibitor search, interactive maps, session schedules and a personal planner; it has been released each year before the show.
From a sales point of view, the app’s main limitation is access. You see the people who chose to be visible, you can’t pull them into your CRM, and once the event ends the data usually disappears with it.
CES: strengths and weaknesses
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Huge concentration of senior decision-makers and global brands | Overwhelming scale; meetings must be booked weeks ahead |
| Strong for partnerships, investor meetings and press coverage | Very expensive Las Vegas hotels during the show |
| Wide industry spread beyond consumer electronics (auto, health, retail, enterprise) | Noise: many attendees are there to look, not to buy |
| Many off-floor private meetings, suites and side events | Trade credentials required; people outside the tech industry may be rejected |
A pre-show prospecting plan for CES
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| 6-8 weeks before | Get the attendee and exhibitor list. Segment it by job title, company size and industry, and remove existing customers and competitors. |
| 3-5 weeks before | Start outreach on email and LinkedIn. Mention the event, give a specific reason to meet and offer two or three time slots. |
| Show week | Confirm every meeting 48 hours ahead, keep a short list of walk-in targets, and log every conversation in your CRM the same day. |
| 1-5 days after | Follow up while the event is still fresh, then add non-responders to a nurture sequence. |
Split your CES list by campus. Automotive and enterprise exhibitors cluster at the LVCC, startups sit at the Venetian, and marketing leaders gather at C Space. Booking meetings in the same campus saves hours of travel between venues.
