IBS and KBIS 2027 run together as Design & Construction Week from 2 to 4 February at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with pre-show education on 31 January and 1 February. From 2027, Las Vegas is the permanent home of the event, ending the old rotation with Orlando.

The two shows cover almost everything that goes into a house: framing, windows, roofing, appliances, cabinets, fixtures and smart-home tech. Organisers expect more than 120,000 attendees and over 2,350 exhibiting brands. This guide explains costs, the audience and how to reach the builders and designers who buy.

IBS and KBIS in a nutshell

Design & Construction Week (DCW) combines two shows: the NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS), the largest annual light-construction show in the world, and KBIS, the main North American event for kitchen and bath design. Together they cover everything that goes into a house, from framing and windows to appliances, cabinets and smart-home tech.

Builders and remodelers come to source products and learn; manufacturers launch new lines and meet distributors. IBS also runs a large education program and The New American Home showcase.

Location and venue

From 2027 the show is held permanently at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The 2026 edition was in Orlando (17-19 Feb) and was the last one there.

Does it change location? It used to alternate between Las Vegas and Orlando, but NAHB has announced Las Vegas as the permanent home from 2027.

Who you’ll meet at IBS and KBIS

  • Home builders and developers
  • Remodelers and contractors
  • Kitchen and bath designers and dealers
  • Architects and interior designers
  • Distributors and dealers
  • Manufacturers’ product and marketing teams

Many visitors are operators, dealers or practitioners rather than corporate buyers, so not every badge is a lead. A filtered attendee list helps you find the distributors, chains and larger companies worth talking to.

Industries and niches covered

  • Homebuilding products: framing, roofing, siding, windows and doors
  • Kitchen and bath: cabinets, appliances, fixtures, surfaces
  • Smart home and building tech
  • Remodeling and multifamily
  • Construction software, sales and marketing for builders
  • Outdoor living and landscaping

The sales opportunity at IBS and KBIS

The residential construction market is fragmented. Thousands of small and mid-size builders, remodelers and kitchen and bath dealers make purchasing decisions, and few of them answer cold calls. DCW is one of the rare moments when a large share of them are in one place, actively looking at products.

For building-product brands and construction software vendors, the trick is prioritising. Production builders, large remodeling firms and distributors carry far more volume than an individual designer, so it pays to know which companies are registered before you set your booth schedule.

Who should attend IBS and KBIS?

Go if you sell into residential construction and want face time with operators, dealers or distributors you can’t easily reach online. The show is excellent for relationships and market intelligence.

Think twice if you need senior corporate buyers only. Many IBS and KBIS visitors are hands-on operators, so plan for filtering and don’t judge success purely by badge scans.

How much does IBS and KBIS cost?

Option Price / details
IBS Expo Pass free for NAHB members, ~$80 for non-members (Sept 2026 discount rate)
IBS Expo + Education Pass ~$450 members / ~$650 non-members (Sept 2026 discount rate)

Also good to know Rates rise after the early deadlines, see buildersshow.com/fees
Typical cost $0-80 for expo access; ~$450-650 with full education.

Prices change between editions and by registration date, so treat these as a guide and check buildersshow.com before you buy.

The IBS and KBIS app and platform

Both IBS and KBIS publish official mobile apps each year (exhibitor search, maps, schedules), and the IBS app usually covers DCW.

The official app is good for finding a booth or a session. It is much less useful for prospecting: data is thin, you can’t export it, and messaging limits stop you from reaching more than a handful of people a day.

Is IBS and KBIS worth it?

Pros Cons
The whole US residential construction industry in one week Product buyers are spread across many small firms
Very cheap or free expo pass for NAHB members Las Vegas costs
Two shows, one trip: builders and designers Busy halls make unplanned meetings hard
Strong education program with credits Market-sensitive: attendance moves with housing starts and interest rates

A pre-show prospecting plan for IBS and KBIS

When What to do
2 months out Decide who you want to meet: target roles, industries, company size. Then get the list of who is actually registered.
1 month out Run a short outreach sequence (three to four touches) that leads with the event and a clear meeting ask.
Final week Send reminders, share your booth number or meeting spot, and prepare one-page briefs on your top accounts.
After the event Send personalised follow-ups within 72 hours and tag every lead with the event name in your CRM.

Target the IBS and KBIS audiences separately. Builders respond to cost, speed and supply reliability, while kitchen and bath designers care about design and client experience. One list, two messages.

The hard part of this plan is step one: the list. That’s exactly what I do. Get your IBS and KBIS attendee list and spend your time on the conversations instead.
