India Mobile Congress (IMC) is the largest telecom and technology event in Asia by footfall. It’s organised by India’s Department of Telecommunications and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), and it brings together the country’s operators, global network vendors, startups and policymakers. The 10th edition runs from 7 to 10 October 2026 under the theme “Scale Without Boundaries”. If you sell into India’s telecom and digital infrastructure market, the IMC attendee list is where to start.

What is India Mobile Congress?

Operators such as Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL exhibit alongside network vendors including Nokia, Ericsson, Samsung and Qualcomm, and hundreds of Indian tech startups. Topics include:

  • Telecom networks: 5G, 6G, fibre and satcom
  • AI and cloud
  • Semiconductors and devices
  • Cybersecurity and digital public infrastructure
  • Startups and deep tech
  • Enterprise and government digital services

Ministers, and often the Prime Minister, open the event. It also hosts startup programmes and the Viksit Tech 47 Awards.

Preparing for IMC

  1. Buy a delegate pass if you need access to senior people.
  2. Target the operators’ procurement and technology teams, not just their booths.
  3. Book meetings outside peak VIP hours to avoid security delays.
  4. Use the metro instead of road transport.
  5. Prepare an India-specific pitch; local deployment, pricing and partners matter.
  6. Follow up before Diwali, when business slows for a while.
