Salone del Mobile.Milano is the most influential furniture and design fair in the world and the anchor of Milan Design Week. The 65th edition runs from 13 to 18 April 2027 at Fiera Milano in Rho, with around 1,900–2,000 exhibitors and 300,000–370,000 attendances expected based on recent editions.

For brands selling into contract furniture, hospitality fit-out or interior design, Salone is where architects and specifiers decide what goes into next year’s projects. Here is what you need to know, and how to arrive with a list of the people worth meeting.

What happens at Salone del Mobile

Each April the Rho fairgrounds fill with furniture manufacturers and several co-located shows: Euroluce for lighting (odd years), EuroCucina for kitchens, the International Bathroom Exhibition (even years) and SaloneSatellite for young designers. In 2027, an odd year, lighting returns with Euroluce.

At the same time, the whole city turns into a showroom. Brands host “Fuorisalone” events across Milan’s design districts, which means business conversations happen far beyond the fair.

Where it takes place

Salone is always held at Fiera Milano in Rho, just north-west of Milan, reached directly on metro line M1 (“Rho Fieramilano”). Special editions have run abroad, such as Shanghai, but the main show never leaves Milan.

Hotels during Design Week are among the most expensive of the year. Book months in advance.

Who attends Salone del Mobile

Audience Their focus Why it matters
Architects and interior designers New collections for upcoming projects They specify products in large contract budgets
Retailers, importers and distributors New lines and exclusive territories Direct buying power
Contract and hospitality buyers Hotel groups and developers sourcing fit-out Big-ticket, multi-property deals

The trade days attract specifiers from all over the world. The last two days open to the public, so plan B2B meetings early in the week.

Tickets and access

2026 prices give a good guide to 2027:

Visitor group Price range Access days
Trade operators €60–85 All six days
Suppliers and manufacturers €40–55 Last three days
General public €38–53 Final weekend
Students €15–20 Last three days

Early-bird rates run until shortly before the fair, and admission is handled only through the official digital platform.

The Salone del Mobile app

The official app (iOS and Android) holds your ticket, the exhibitor catalogue, an interactive map and the event schedule. It is good for finding stands and booking a visit. For sales work it falls short: you see brands, not the people walking the halls, and there is no way to export the catalogue with company details.

How to prospect Salone del Mobile

  1. Start with the exhibitor catalogue and split it by category: furniture, lighting, kitchens, bathrooms, outdoor and contract.
  2. Identify the specifiers. Architecture and interior-design firms rarely exhibit, so they need to be found through attendee data and LinkedIn.
  3. Target hospitality groups and developers with fit-out projects in your markets.
  4. Book meetings for days one to four. Senior buyers disappear into Fuorisalone events as the week goes on.
  5. Log every contact in your CRM so follow-up happens before the next design season.

Pros and cons

Pros Cons
The global design industry in one place Milan hotels are very expensive that week
Strong reach to architects and specifiers Fuorisalone pulls buyers away from the fair
Clear split between trade and public days Exhibitor space is hard to get as a newcomer
Wide international press coverage Crowded halls, meetings must be pre-booked
