Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) is the world’s leading event for cities and urban innovation. Around 25,000 attendees, 1,000+ exhibitors and delegations from 800+ cities come to Fira Barcelona Gran Via (estimate). The 2026 edition runs from 3 to 5 November 2026 in Halls 2 and 3.

Mayors and city CIOs attend with delegations, which makes SCEWC a key event for govtech and urban-tech companies trying to reach public buyers.

Passes

Several pass types are available: a Visitor Pass for the expo, an upgrade to the Full Congress Pass, and a Government Pass by application. Early-bird and 25%-off promotions run until late September (approx. visitor €150–200, congress €700–900, estimate).

The official app

The official app holds your digital badge and the networking tool. City officials are in high demand and tend to filter requests carefully.

How to prospect SCEWC

  1. List exhibiting cities and regions and their published smart-city priorities.
  2. Identify CIOs, CDOs and mobility or sustainability heads.
  3. Use speakers as a target list. Many are city officials.
  4. Be patient. Public-sector cycles are long, so plan multi-touch follow-up.
  5. Coordinate with partners who already hold framework contracts.

Pros and cons
