SIAL Paris is the world’s largest food-innovation trade show and one of the two global giants of the food and beverage trade, alongside Anuga. The 2026 edition runs from 17 to 21 October 2026 at Paris Nord Villepinte, with around 8,000 exhibitors and about 295,000 visiting professionals over 280,000 m².

For exporters, private-label manufacturers and food-tech vendors, SIAL is often the main moment of the year to sign distribution deals. The show is huge, so the teams that win are the ones who know exactly which buyers to meet.

What happens at SIAL Paris

SIAL brings together producers, processors, brands and country pavilions from more than 100 countries to sell to retail, wholesale and foodservice buyers. The show is organised by product sector, including dairy, meat, frozen, beverages, fine food and plant-based. Its innovation programme, with the SIAL Innovation awards and trend reports, draws a lot of category-management and R&D interest.

Many exporters treat SIAL as their best chance to land distribution or private-label contracts in one trip.

Where it takes place

SIAL Paris is always held at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre, between central Paris and Charles de Gaulle Airport, on the RER B line. It runs in even years and alternates with Anuga in Cologne. The SIAL brand also has sister shows in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Canada, the Middle East and India.

Villepinte is far from the city centre, so the daily commute is long. Many exhibitors stay near the airport.

SIAL Meet & Match and the event app

SIAL runs Meet & Match, an AI-assisted matchmaking service with human curation that pre-books meetings between exhibitors and buyers. An official app gives the exhibitor list and floor plan.

Matchmaking helps, but it only covers buyers who opt in and only suggests a handful of matches. It does not give you the full picture of which retail chains, importers and foodservice groups will be there, or who inside those companies to contact.

How to prospect SIAL Paris

  1. Define your target channels: retail, import and distribution, or foodservice. Each needs a different list.
  2. Filter exhibitors by your sector to map competitors and potential co-packing partners.
  3. Build a buyer list by country if you are looking for distributors, then rank by size and category fit.
  4. Combine Meet & Match with direct outreach. Use the matchmaking tool, but email and message the buyers it misses.
  5. Plan your hall route. Buyers often only walk their own category halls, so schedule meetings near them.
