Vinitaly is the world’s biggest trade fair for Italian wine and spirits. Every April almost every Italian producer sets up in Veronafiere, organised by region. In 2026 the fair drew 90,000 visitors (26% foreign, from 135 countries), 4,000 exhibitors and more than 1,000 top buyers from over 70 countries. Vinitaly 2027 is expected in April 2027, usually Sunday to Wednesday in early to mid-April. Exact dates are still to be confirmed.

For producers, it is the chance to meet importers. For service providers selling to Italian wineries, it is the one place to see the whole industry in a few days.

What happens at Vinitaly

International importers, distributors and sommeliers come to taste and source. Vinitaly runs alongside:

  • Sol&Agrifood for olive oil and fine food
  • Enolitech for wine-making technology and packaging

A buyer programme run with the Italian Trade Agency brings in pre-selected international buyers. Attendance slipped from 97,000 in 2025 to 90,000 in 2026.

Where it takes place

Vinitaly is always held at Veronafiere in Verona. The brand also runs Vinitaly International events and roadshows abroad. Verona hotels are limited and expensive in Vinitaly week.

Tickets

Vinitaly is trade only. Italian trade tickets are roughly €90–150 per day (estimate). Qualifying foreign operators can get a free badge through the Vinitaly Buyer’s Club. 2027 tickets will be available on vinitaly.com.

The Vinitaly app

The Vinitaly App includes the exhibitor and wine catalogue, maps and meeting tools. It works for tasting routes. It does not give producers a list of importers who will be there, and the catalogue cannot be exported with contacts.

How to prospect Vinitaly

For wineries: list importers and distributors in your target countries, rank them by portfolio fit and size, and book tasting appointments before April.

For suppliers to wineries: use the exhibitor list by region to plan which producers to visit, and enrich it with company size and decision-makers.

In both cases, contact people before the fair. The halls are busy and noisy, and walk-in conversations rarely go deep.

Pros and cons

Pros Cons
The whole Italian wine offer in one place Busy, with many domestic visitors
Strong buyer programme with the Italian Trade Agency Verona hotels limited and expensive
Free access for qualifying international buyers Narrow focus on Italian wine
